Big News for Grand Rapids and Michigan Cycling

•September 30, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Of course my inaugural post is going to be about cycling….

Just found this on a popular cycling website: For 2011-2012 Grand Rapids will be hosting the United States Pro Criterium Championship, this is where the national champion will be crowned, and for the following year, that racer gets to wear the designated Stars and Bars jersey while racing in other crits. Criterium racing is the style that I excel at as a racer, and is one of the more popular styles here in the states. It is a short course, lap format (usually under 1 mile in length) that is raced with a preset time limit, followed by a certain number of laps, generally under 10.

This is exciting news for Michigan, and my proof to you all that cycling is growing… Also, Michigan just fielded it’s largest number of pros in the US pro Road Race in Greenville, NC; including Oxford’s own Scott Stewart riding for Team Type 1.

The Black Keys

Here are 6 albums of the Black Keys. I put up a couple of their albums before, but I absolutely love this group. They are starting to blow up too. They just sold out a concert in Buffalo in 2 days.  Their sound is very unique, and is just what rock needs right now. So enjoy 6 free albums.

John Legend and The Roots- Wake up Everybody

•September 3, 2010 • 1 Comment

You can never go wrong with John Legend, or the Roots, especially when you combine them with Common and Melanie Fiona. This song has a powerful message, and I know my teacher friends will enjoy it. This song if off of the John Legend and The Roots upcoming Album, Wake Up, which is going to be released this month.

This is why baseball is amazing. You crush a catcher, they throw at you. Then you take your base like a man. They throw at you again? Then you light that pitcher up in his grill.

Greg Jones!

Without a doubt, Greg Jones is/has been my favorite MSU player for a while now. Some of you may have heard me say that he should be on both offense and defense because he is that much of a beast. Scout.com just did a write up of the top 100 players of the 2010 season, and just take a look at where the put my man Greg Jones.

I know we never post anything about hunting; and I should be last person to do that since I’ve never hunted in my life, but I was shown this video by a friend the other day and I knew it had to be shared. This is by far the coolest way to hunt, hands down. Anytime you can chop an animals head of with one shot, it’s super badass.

The Incomparable Shakespeare – Hometown Video

By far my favorite song from this artist and one of my favorite songs overall this year. Absolutely a “non-skip” track on the iPod. Video is great too, didn’t know the original track (woman singing) until a few days back, but obviously, what Shake does with it makes it amazing.

Enjoy

Can Chris Allen Walk On Water?

•August 23, 2010 • Leave a Comment

I know Chris Allen had his fair share of clutch moments in his three years at Michigan State, but now that he’s moving on to play at Iowa State, can he play on this……

Yep, that’s the home of Cyclone basketball, Hilton Coliseum under 10 feet of water during an apparent recent flooding. Needless to say, they’ll be getting a new floor in the near future.
